Birth Support
Every pregnancy and every birth is unique.
Our commitment is to accompany you on your individual journey in a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
Trustworthy and transparent communication is just as important as tranquility and softly lit rooms.
We want to support the birthing person, the child, and the birth companion in their own rhythm and strength – and provide space and time for decisions.
The child should be born into a protective environment and received by you.
To create security and privacy, usually only the attending midwife is present in the birth room during labor. Physiological births are led by midwives; physicians can be called in at any time if abnormalities occur. An interdisciplinary team of gynecologists, pediatricians, and anesthesiologists is on standby 24/7 in the background.
We try to achieve pain relief through various approaches – depending on the needs of the birthing person. Essential is the continuous support by a midwife; the presence and support of a birth companion can also be very helpful. Massages, movement, or a warm bath can relieve labor pains and tension and help gather strength. In addition to gentle methods from integrative medicine, we also have medical pain therapy including epidural anesthesia (PDA) available if needed.
Vaginal breech birth as well as vaginal twin births are among the special core competencies of Havelhöhe obstetrics. Years of experience, regular training, and an individual perspective enable vaginal birth in many cases. Behind this is an experienced team of midwives, obstetricians, pediatricians, and anesthesiologists. Even after previous cesarean sections, vaginal birth can be made possible in many cases.
Our relationship with Havelhöhe Community Hospital and Anthroposophy
Since its founding in 1997, the midwifery community has been a self-organized, freelance unit within Havelhöhe Community Hospital.
Interprofessional collaboration and professional exchange between midwives and gynecologists are continuously developed through regular case discussions and training. The goal is not only high work quality but also respectful interaction and exchange between different professional groups.
Our work is guided by current scientific knowledge and requirements. Beyond this, we offer expanded healing arts through anthroposophy. In addition to anthroposophic applications – such as rhythmic massages – there is the possibility of using anthroposophic medicines. Anthroposophic Medicine does not see itself as an alternative, but as a complement to conventional medicine.
Our concern is to perceive people in their wholeness and support them in their individual development.
